One day I stumbled across this:

And it stuck in my head.  I rewatched it a lot before realizing it was now part of a bigger Broadway show:

Then I bought the soundtrack.

Then I memorized the soundtrack.

Then I read the biography the show is based on.  (Well, I'm still reading it.  It's 700 pages.  I'm about halfway.)

At some point in here I learned cousin A is also obsessed with the ten dollar founding father without a father.

And then tonight:

Me:  They're supposed to be making a movie with the original cast.

A:  Really?!  That's great.  I've been trying to find a bootleg copy online.

Me:  Yeah they want to do it while the original cast is there, since their contracts end in July and they'll all start moving on.

A:  Yeah.

Me: ... That's why I got our tickets for June.

As fun as the trip will be, and as much as I can't wait to see Lin Manuel Miranda do his thing on stage, this 20 seconds will still be my favorite.

Things are nutscrazybusy at work right now, and I'm also buried in projects for the housegardenanimalsanctuary.  But I've got TWO dates with Grace and the hubs this weekend, so it's going to be a good couple days before next week sweeps me away.  Tonight we're all going to see Warhorse, and then Sunday we'll go up to River's Wish to do some clean up and also meet their newest resident, a sweet little steer.




This made me smile this morning - make sure to watch to the very end.

I only watched it because the Hubs made me, because of the exciting tidbit I am about to share with you:

At 1:18ish, and then again throughout the video, the scene is shot in THE Value Village in Capitol Hill that we lived up the block from when we lived in Seattle.



And by "lived up the block from," I really mean "spent all our time in."

I'm having a good day, and this video is still the best minute of it, so far.

First we'll get the bathroom remodel done.  (And hopefully soon - using a porta-potty at home does not jive with the standard of living to which I have become accustomed.)

Then I'll put the office back together, as it's become the staging area for the aforementioned remodel.

THEN we'll see what to do about internet and computer fixing.

Your patience is much appreciated.

In the meantime, how gorgeous is this sweet owl?  I love his eyes.

Bad presents on Jimmy Kimmel

(Warning to Grandma - the boy at the very end has a terrible potty mouth, I'm sorry! But the rest of it is pretty funny!)



The boy who freaks out over the Hello Kitty shirt was kind of a butt on the Halloween video too, if I remember right. He's like the villain on a ton of different kids' movies - Dudley from Harry Potter leaps to mind first.

I like the idea of people messing with their children, but it would be super-hard for me to give the kid a good, real gift on Christmas if they had a giant, ugly meltdown over the joke present.

The ones who are just puzzled or dismayed are the best. An old banana... ?
