I tried to make barley with a mushroom/onion/garlic/wine thing mixed in it tonight. I got everything all cut, sauteed and simmered down and went to add the barley, only to find out we didn't have any in the house.
But while searching for the barley, I did find a box of chocolate chip granola bars.
So I turned off the stove and ate the bars instead.
This not-having-all-the-ingredients happens to me about 10% of the time. I really should start checking beforehand.
Anyway. Probably the mushroom stuff will be good with spaghetti or something later. It doesn't matter, I'm sort of full on granola bars now.
