First we'll get the bathroom remodel done. (And hopefully soon - using a porta-potty at home does not jive with the standard of living to which I have become accustomed.)
Then I'll put the office back together, as it's become the staging area for the aforementioned remodel.
THEN we'll see what to do about internet and computer fixing.
Your patience is much appreciated.
In the meantime, how gorgeous is this sweet owl? I love his eyes.

Or, if the linkdoesn't work (and it seems like it may not), Youtube "11 month old twins dancing to daddy's guitar."

I especially like how they lock eyes immediately as soon as the music starts.
And you can't help but respect babies who will so happily eat their peas.

More testing...
Testing the iPad again. I do like this voice feature, it's pretty cool. Here, let's see if we can do some pictures:

Oooo, figured it out. That's pretty cool.
POST EDIT: Guess not. Darn.

8.24.12
my laptop's been down
and something is wrong with fancycamera as well
i've been a bit swamped with work
and then out having a summer, the rest of the time:
garden
swimming
family time
friend time
bunny rabbits
plotting and planning
even a little bit of travel
(which i'm finding i can actually enjoy, if i make sort of an effort)
all of these +ed together = one big excuse for the blogquiet
probably i'll come back when the computer sitch is sorted out.
(i'm posting this from an ipad and sort of loving it. maybe that's my solution.)
hopefully fancycamera is fixable too.
blogging's no fun without fancycamera.
here is a cool blog i just discovered, with yummy looking vegan food
i still wish i was a better cook. must work on that this fall, once the garden is tucked in.
i wonder how picture posting would go on an ipad?
difficulty handling photos = dealbreaker
but i'm out in the yard right now with the buns (who've been SO patient with the craziness here, and haven't seen the sun for a couple of days, while we work and fret and rush around). and the ipad is pretty slick for that - portable, gets the internet signal all strong, and the screen is easy to see in the bright sun.
be back eventually,
love,
j

G's painting
G's contribution the the River's Wish auction this year is to paint an original watercolor based on the item winner's photograph of choice. She can paint landscapes, still lifes, animal portraits, and classic cars.
I kind of really want to win this myself, though I don't have any particular photo in mind.
Also, the other day this old painting of Mom's turned up behind the record-player in the dining room at Step-Dad's:
Between her and Step-Dad, G's got this art thing in her genes, big time, the lucky girl.
Love, J

Dad's day '12
G painted this watercolor of Step-Dad with all 7 girls for Father's Day:
After gifts, we went on a hike with Luna and Cooper the wonder-dog, who can still go on hikes with just two good legs. Imagine that.
Then we saw a marmot in someone's front yard and got milkshakes from Ron's on the way home. There are good pictures of this part of the day, but they're on Step-Dad's camera.
Finally, we hit the in-laws' to hang out, enjoy MIL's mad cooking skillz, and play chase-the-baby for a few hours.

| I'm not in any of these pictures, but I was wearing the same exact outfit as MIL. It was weird. |
| Here, the Hubs is insisting he can hurdle this huge pile of jagged metal. But MIL said, "No." |

Cute little blog
Have you seen Never Seconds?
Probably you have. It's in the news all over, but I've been neglectful with my web surfing lately, so I just saw it for the first time tonight.
Anyway, it's by this little girl in Scotland who takes pictures of her school lunches and then blogs about it. She's kind of a big deal now, and with all the attention her blog has gotten, her school's lunch offerings have improved mucho.
I mostly like it because she writes so cute, like this:
"I was so keen to eat I dashed out of my class leaving the camera behind."
Love, J
PS~ Aunt Sue I got your note today - thank you times one hundred!
And your stationary is beautiful, like something I imagine the queen would use.
(That sounds like I'm making fun of you, but I'm not. Really. I want fancy note cards that make me feel like royalty too.)
